A cheese vendor's stall in the Via Alessandria market. I listed all of Rome's many farmer's and neighborhood markets on my other blog Aglio, Olio & Peperoncino

in rosso

On my recent trip overseas, we were lucky to be able to drive up from Los Angeles to the Central Coast through a wonderful rural landscape. Flying may be quicker, but driving allows you experience so much more. If you'd like to see other images of this journey, you can see this post, or visit my Flickr album.

This portrayed above is Blackwell Corner Market on Hwy 46, where we stopped to stretch our legs and get a coffee, about half way through. I was touched by the sign at the entrance, 'in the red' is an expression many of us are sadly and often confronted with recently.

in giro a monti

One of my favorite parts of town.
I like to lazily walk around here, without plans; stop in for a bite at a habitual osteria and take the long way back home.

Our Christmas was puncuated by dawns. Many beautiful dawns in many different beautiful places... Dawn depratures and dawn arrivals, by land, sea and air.
