Chuck~ what you're referring to is PASTINA, which is the smallest grain pasta, usually cooked in chicken stock for children's soups. Via dei 'Pastini' is a plural noun. Pastino is an ancient word meaning "fertile soil, cultivated with fruit trees", and perhaps centuries ago, the narrow alley behind the Pantheon was just that. Thanks for asking! Ciao
