buccone

Yep, that's me. In a situation I am most likely to be seen smiling: in front of a plate of local salumi & cheese, while holding a glass of wine.

It was a great bottle of Cesanese del Piglio, that Deborah and her son John shared with me over lunch at a wine merchant called Buccone. The store is located on Via Ripetta, to the right of the Piazza del Popolo twin churches.  It's great to meet a friend made through blogging.

The food is great! ANd all you have to do for wine is reach over on the wall-to-wall shelves of it!

    Leif~
The *best* way to spend time, in fact there's a saying here, "A tavola non s'invecchia" – which translates to: 'You don't grow old at the table.'

    Bella~

  19. yes, I would be very happy too with a plate of salumi and a glass of wine, out somewhere where there is life! It's all closed here so if we want nightlife we have to brave the long coast road to Sorrento at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Eleonora ~ My sister Amanda was so sad to have missed seeing and she isn't lying when she says she would have eaten up the plate of salume rapidamente...must feed the hungry donna bella...just don't understand why she stays so thin!

Hope your foot is better and you get a breather every now and then from the controlled chaos of Roma. The big sky and quiet back home now is almost deafening.

Is there another Deborah or am I talking to myself in my dreams????

  21. Charlie~
Thank you for your visit! Everything closes even with the upcoming holidays? No the long coast ride to Sorrento is too long!!

    Deborah~
Welcome back home. We're doing fine, both very excited about Christmas! Hugs

PS. The background to my blog is one of the standard choices in Blogger. I wish I could take credit for creating it, but I can't. :)

PPS. And you may take anything you want! xoxo

  28. You are a very pretty young woman and most importantly, you radiate kindness.
How fun to meet a blog friend -- it's an unpredictable and interesting, since you usually know so much about the person from the blog, but don't know the manerisms, and expressions and way of talking, and all those other tactile things that only personal contact can bring.

  29. Tash~
Aw, thank you! Indeed, meeting in person raises the relationship to an even higher level. I wish to meet all my blog friends one day!
