arrivederci

Our vacation in the breezy Tuscan getaway is over, alas.
We return to a sweltering Rome, with the memory of pink sunsets in our eyes, wet bathing suits, and enough stored energy to tackle the challenges of the Fall.

Arrivederci, Villa Rucellai...

  1. What a pretty place. I am longing to visit Italy so much - but it looks like it's not going to happen this year.

  2. I follow you quietly over on my google reader but oh, I think I would have cried when leaving this place. I love Roma but ... just oh!

I'm still weeping... This place is magical. I've been coming here since I was a young girl and I never tire of it.

Please tell us about you last photo. I can't quite figure it out.

You don't have mosquito repellent incence coils in the US? You light them and they burn slowly, effusing a smell I associate with summer and that mozzies don't like. In the morning, all that's left is the ashes which fall as the coil burns. This is that picture: the end of summer.

  6. Ohh, the mosquito coils. Yes, we have them in the U.S. I just haven't used one for so long that, like Roseann, I didn't recognize the ash remains.

    Summer is NOT over! Blasphemy!

  9. Love the first picture... and that guy fishing in the middle of the river is living a wonderful life. Such a gorgeous place! A mosquito repellent coil, I hate that smell... they tend to stick in your clothes and hair.
