  1. I especially like the monochromatic photo of St. Peter's! It reminds me of my visit there in 2000!

  2. I saw a St Peter's Bar there. A guy at one of the souvenirs stalls in St Peter square was shamelessly trying to pick up passing girls...

  4. You don't need to translate the title for me. It's the same all over, isn't it? I have a little Buddhist charm in my car to ward off accidents, something I found at the shop of a temple in Kyoto. Everybody wants a souvenir of the holy site. Nice contrast in this pair of images.

  5. Top photo is beautiful -- looks like a Felini movie. Even more timeless in B&W. Always good to hear from you whenever you pop over. Meanwhile ciao from Monterey!

Leif~ The façade has been cleaned and now the subtle colors of the marbles are beautiful. Well, not in this BW...

Bob~ These images and the title speak for themselves, I guess. Happy you liked!

  8. I love that top shot! The symmetry of it, with the cloud bursting exactly behind the building-- just perfect.

  12. Your art reminds me that I did not experience this view of Saint Peter's. How can that be? Because I entered from the Museo Vaticano. How silly of me not to walk this street. Next time, definitely. The whole approach was designed by Bernini for effect, and your photo pays it great homage. Grazi.

  13. Beautiful details in these images. I had to enlarge these to see all of them.

  14. Jeff~ Oh yo must! And at the end of the walk you reach the river Tiber, and wonderful bridges, Castel Sant'Angelo and other stunning views!
Gogouci~ I'm happy you did. That kitsch-fest begs to be enlarged!

    Grazie, everyone!
