vespa show

Just as I was saying good-bye to some friends visiting from LA after a gargantuan gelato session, a buzzing platoon of Vespa scooters zoomed by. They all had numbers on the front, so maybe it was some sort of competition. Judging from the models, it was probably for vintage classics.

Check out the cream-colored one equipped with sidecar... Also, I think I spotted a Lambretta out there somewhere...
Ah, bliss. Almost better than gelato.

This post is dedicated to my vespa-buddy, CHUCK

  1. Thanks, Lola! Fun group of vintage wasps -:) Interesting to note the side-car mounted to the left of the scooter. Most I've seen are to the right of the scoot. Looks like a rally of some sort. I'd certainly feel right at home!

    Grazie!

  4. I hadn't realized there was a sidecar for a scooter.

  5. Rob~ Isn't the sidecar cool? I'd love to ride in that.

  6. This is really fun. I recall sitting on the Champs Elysees in Paris when a large group of bicycles rode by waving to the crowd. (Not the Tour de France!)

Jeff~ I *love* Le Tour, I've only ever seen the live "Giro d'Italia" though.
