manichini in vetrina

Window shopping

How forlorn and dreamy-eyed these two mannequins look. Perhaps they're wishing they could be outside, each doing their own thing in the busy street, instead of standing together in the same sad window.

  5. This is very clever. If you had not mentioned mannequins in the caption, I might have thought these were two rather expressionless women gazing out.

  6. A very clever photo. Good thing you explained the mannequin nature of the figures because I was thinking real people's reflections / shadows on the glass.

  8. As others wrote - reflections are difficult to capture. Very interesting composition!

Re your question at San Francisco Bay Daily Photo, «Louis» doesn't always take the photo from exactly the same spot - he moves around his balcony according to what he's trying to capture.

  9. They do look wistful, as though there's so much more fun to be had outside.

  10. This is award winning! Their stare seems lost and sad...and somehow I connect their image with the big anononimous building in the reflecion... if you see what I mean...

  13. I love this shot, and I actually like the frozen and indifferent look of those mannequins, they're trying to be nothing more than, well, mannequins:)!
