Yep, it's officially spring in Rome.

It's forbidden to ride a vespa on the autostrada highway. Yet this fearless centaur does, and even succeeding in passing us. We were on our way down to Positano, driving through an area known for cameo carvings, volcanic lava tunnels, and lax traffic law enforcement.

On my recent trip overseas, we were lucky to be able to drive up from Los Angeles to the Central Coast through a wonderful rural landscape. This portrayed above is Blackwell Corner Market on Hwy 46, where we stopped to stretch our legs and get a coffee, about half way through. I was touched by the sign at the entrance, 'in the red' is an expression many of us are sadly and often confronted with recently.
